Summary
Tubidy collects the minimum information required to run the service. We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for marketing, and we do not track which user watched which video.
What we collect
Account information
- Your email address
- Your display name
- A salted, one-way hash of your password (never the password itself)
- Optional two-factor authentication secrets, if you enable 2FA
Content you upload
- Video files (up to 100 MB each)
- Thumbnails you supply, or ones we generate from the first second of your video
- Titles, descriptions, and category selections
Technical data
- Anonymous per-video view counts (incremented on each page load)
- Server logs containing IP addresses, kept for no longer than 30 days and used only for security and debugging
How we use your data
- To operate your account and authenticate your sessions
- To show your videos to other visitors
- To respond to support requests you submit through the contact form
- To investigate abuse, copyright claims, or security incidents
Third parties
Tubidy does not use third-party advertising networks, analytics trackers, or fingerprinting tools. The only third parties involved in running the site are:
- Our hosting provider, which stores your data on our behalf
- Our email delivery provider, used only for transactional mail like password resets
Your rights
You may, at any time:
- View or edit your account details from the profile page
- Delete your account — every video you've uploaded is removed within 30 days
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you by emailing the contact form
Data retention
Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we purge personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (for example, to respond to a legal process).
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change to how we handle your data, we will update the last updated date at the top of this page and email active account holders with a summary of the change.
